Pokémon type match-ups can affect your battles. It’s very important to pay attention to them especially for gym battles. Here’s a list of which Pokémon types that are strong and weak against each other to help you out while you’re playing the games. There’s a downloadable image of this chart at the end of the post.

If you need help in knowing more about a Pokémon, I suggest getting a Pokémon handbook. There are a number of different ones that offer various information. I specifically have this one, and it’s a great book, but it is getting outdated as they create more Pokémon.
