Weekly Recommendations is a post I write every Friday in which I recommend three different kinds of media for you. These can include anime, comics, video games, TV shows, and other similar forms of entertainment. Remember that I do a variety of different genres, and the intended audience of each recommendation will vary.

Tomo-chan Is a Girl!

  • Anime
  • Comedy, Romance

Tomo Aizawa and Junichirou “Jun” Kubota are best friends who roughhouse and spar but always support each other. The only problem is that Tomo is in love with Jun, and Jun, because of her tomboyish mentality, doesn’t seem to comprehend that Tomo is a girl, and no matter what she does—even if she confesses to him—he fails to notice her feelings.

Miraculous Ladybug: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir

  • Cartoon
  • Action, Adventure, Superhero, Magical Girl, Romance

Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste use miraculous to transform into the superheroes Ladybug and Cat Noir. They fight together to protect the people of Paris from Hawk Moth, who intends to steal their miraculous by using akumas, which change humans into supervillains when they experience emotional distress. Although they are friends, Marinette has feelings for Adrien, and Adrien has feelings for Ladybug, both of whom are unaware of their true identities.

Midnight Poppy Land

  • Webtoon
  • Romance, Comedy, Drama, Mafia

Poppy is a book editor who grew up in a small town. She gets into a moped accident right after leaving her cheating boyfriend and grabs a notebook that isn’t hers. This notebook introduces her to a mafia member, and as she interacts with him, she is drawn deeper and deeper into his and the mafia’s business.
