Weekly Recommendations is a post I publish every Friday in which I recommend three different kinds of entertainment. These can include anime, comics, movies, video games, books, and other similar forms of media. They may also vary in release year and intended audience.

My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!

  • Manga
  • Comedy, Romance, Fantasy, Drama, Isekai

Catarina Claes is the Duke’s daughter. When she hits her head at the age of eight, she realizes she is the villain from an otome game she had played in her previous life. The villainess is destined to have a bad end, so Catarina sets out to prevent it by improving her farming abilities and being nice to everyone she meets. Caratrina’s efforts to avoid her tragic endings make her endearing and appear to capture all of the other otome characters.

Xiaolin Showdown

  • Cartoon Series, 52 episodes
  • Action, Comedy, Adventure, Martial Arts

Omi, Kimiko, Raimundo, and Clay participate in martial arts training at the Xiaolin temple after being chosen as the four Xiaolin Dragons: earth, water, fire, and wind. They must work together to find mystical artifacts known as Shen Gong Wu, which possess special powers. During their adventures, they meet the evil boy genious Jack Spicer and Wuya, an evil Heylin witch who intends to misuse the Shen Gong Wu for evil.

Lovely Complex

  • Anime, 24 episodes
  • Comedy, Romance

Risa Koizumi is taller than most women, whereas Atsushi Ootani is shorter than most males. Their height makes it difficult for them to find love, and to make matters worse, their teacher and classmates refer to them as a comedy duo. They’re tired of being put together based on their height, but when they discover they have a lot in common and encourage each other in their search for love, they develop a friendship that could lead to love.
