Legendary: A Marvel Deck Building Game is a Marvel-inspired board game. You choose five heroes to fight several villains and a final boss known as the mastermind. You must prevent the mastermind from carrying out his or her evil scheme to win the game.

There have been numerous expansion packs for the Marvel version and, over time, additional versions of the game have been released for other IPs, such as Legendary Encounters, which is based on Aliens, Predators, and even Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I was talking with my brother, who also plays the game, and we realized there are many other fandoms that could become Legendary games. So, here’s some of our ideas:

RWBY

Rooster Teeth’s animated series RWBY would be perfect for a version of Legendary. Characters such as Ruby, Weiss, Yang, and Blake, as well as Qrow, Penny, and Team JNPR, could be the heroes you can choose from.

You could also have expansion packs for other Beacon teams or from the other schools, like team SSSN. Grimm could be the side villains. Cinder, Adam, Salem, and Torchwick would be the masterminds. Of course, there could be expansions for the villains and masterminds as well, adding characters like Neapolitan, Mercury, Emerald, and others from Salem’s group.

Naruto

Naruto is another show that has plenty of characters to fit Legendary. Naruto and his fellow ninjas from the Leaf Village could be the heroes. There could also be expansion packs for ninjas from other villages, such as a sand village expansion that would include Gaara, Temari, and Kankuro.

The masterminds are pretty obvious. Orochimaru, Pain, and Obito could be among them. Do you see where I’m going with this? The villains would most likely be the Akatsuki and other enemies that Naruto and his friends fought in the anime and manga.

My Hero Academia

This version would be like the Marvel version of Legendary, considering they both deal with superheroes and supervillains. The heroes would be UA high school students, with expansions for other characters from other classes and schools.

There could also be a professional heroes expansion featuring All Might, Endeavor, and other professional heroes. The bad guys in the anime and manga would be the villains and masterminds, like All for One, League of Villains, and Tomura Shigaraki.

Dragon Ball Z

A Dragon Ball Z Legendary would have a lot of potential for expansion packs. You could make a Dragon Ball expansion with characters such as Kid Goku and evil Piccolo, as well as a Dragon Ball Super expansion, a Dragon Ball GT expansion, and expansions for other characters.

Goku, Vegeta, Krillin, Piccolo, Gohan, Goten, Trunks, and the other Z fighters would be your choices for heroes. The villains would be any of the enemies the Z fighters faced, like evil Vegeta, Frieza, and Dr. Gero (which also gives you the androids as both villains and heroes too). There are numerous options for this one.

DC Comics

A DC Comics version would be identical to the Marvel version, except that DC Comics characters would be used instead. You could pick heroes from the Justice League, such as Superman, Batman, and others. There’s a multitude of villains to choose from as well. Expansion packs could cover specific areas of the DC universe. A Batman family or Gotham City expansion pack could include Batgirl, Robin, and other Batman villains.

These are just five versions we thought of, but there are plenty more. There are a lot of anime that would work, especially since many of them have a lot of characters to use.
