I wrote a post about vacation ideas a few weeks ago. Since then, I’ve decided to add a few more posts for more specific vacations now that it’s officially summer. Here is a list of geeky museums in the United States that you can visit.

National Video Game Museum

This museum is in Frisco, Texas. It is focused on the history of video games and the video game industry. This includes arcade games as well as their evolution into console and computer games. There are even video games available to play.

Hall of Heroes Superhero Museum

Elkhart, Indiana is home to this superhero museum. You can probably guess what it contains. It’s a museum dedicated to superheroes and comic books. Toys, films, and animation are also included. There’s even a Bat Cave.

International Center for the History of Electronic Games

This is another video game museum, but it also includes other electronic games. It is housed within the National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York. It includes a timeline of video game history as well as a Hall of Fame. Other toys and board games are also on display at the National Museum of Play.

Comic-Con Museum

San Diego Comic-Con International decided to open a museum in 2021. It has a plethora of geek culture exhibits, including superheroes, comic books, graphic novels, Star Trek, Pac-Man, and popular TV shows. Year-round events will include panels, meet-and-greets, parties, eSports, experiential cinema, cosplay shows, and concerts.

Museum of Pop Culture

This museum is in Seattle, Washington. It’s all about pop culture, which includes movies, music, science fiction, fantasy, and other things. At the time of writing, they have exhibits for Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix, indie games, and fantasy and science fiction artifacts and memorabilia from Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, The Walking Dead, and others.

The Toy and Action Figure Museum

A toy and action figure museum is located in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. The action figures include Star Wars, Transformers, He-Man, comic book characters, and more.

The Smithsonian

There are numerous museums and exhibits at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C., but they also have some that focus on pop culture. They also have plans to create an entertainment exhibit that will debut in December 2022. However, there are currently a few additional exhibits in the American History section, including ones for computer devices, movies, and art.

The Hollywood Museum

The Hollywood Museum is a film and television museum in Los Angeles, California. At the time of writing, some of its current exhibits include Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, Halloween, Batman, superheroes, Harry Potter, and others. Previous exhibits have featured TV legends, Michael Jackson, holidays, and more.
