Planet Coaster offers some great downloadable content packs, but buying them all can quickly add up. If you’re like me, that means you want to choose the DLC packs that’ll give you the most extra content for a reasonable price. Here are the DLC packs that I think provide you the most bang for your buck.
Studios Pack
The Planet Coaster Studios pack was designed to be used for movie scenes, but the contents of this pack can be used for much more than that. It includes a large number of scenery items and building sets that can be used in a variety of different settings and park themes.
You can make cities and towns with these items and even have parking lots full of cars. There are also more animatronics that can be used with the original game themes, such as more pirates and even sharks. Since I purchased it, I’ve used this pack in every single park, regardless of theme.
Adventure Pack
Think Indiana Jones for this pack, and yes, you can create some fantastic adventure parks with it. I’ve had a lot of fun making an ancient temple track ride where mummies attack archeologists. You can check out this ride on my Facebook or Instagram. This pack also includes a lot of scenery and building materials.
You can use these items in other types of settings and parks just like you can with the studios pack. I used the animatronic crocodiles in a scary Halloween park. I’ve used the temple pieces for other buildings too, so these items can be used in a variety of ways. The new foliage is great as well. I used this pack in my adventure park, as seen in the cover image of this post.
Spooky Pack
This pack, like the others, is made up of what it is named after: spooky things! This pack contains fewer items than the other packs I’ve mentioned, but I still feel like it’s a good choice. I’ve been able to use it for a lot more than just making scary scenes.
Of course, I have been making a Halloween park that has definitely benefited from having this pack, but I’ve also used its items in parks that are completely unrelated to Halloween. I used its table and chairs to create an outdoor balcony in order to make a restaurant appear more realistic (and even added some animatronic people sitting on them). You can see that below.
This pack also gives you animatronic crows that are perfect to place for extra details around trees. And if you have the sound on, you’ll also be able to hear them making their signature crow sounds. It definitely helps add to that spooky feel.
These Planet Coaster packs give you a variety of items that have a lot more potential than just their intended concept, which is why I believe they are the best DLC packs worth purchasing.
What do you think about these packs? Let me know in the comments.
