Midnight Poppy Land is a fun adventure that has quickly become one of my favorite webtoons. Poppy unknowingly becomes involved in mafia affairs, which leads her to meet Tora, the mafia leader’s son’s bodyguard. The man has a dangerous, violent side, but he treats Poppy with care and consideration, which gradually blossoms into romantic feelings. For me, the most enjoyable aspect of this webtoon is the developing relationship between Poppy and Tora. It grows throughout the series without ever feeling rushed or too slow.

There are so many heartwarming moments between them that it’s impossible to choose a favorite, but trust me when I say this isn’t a sappy love story. Their personalities complement each other well, resulting in cute teasing and other interesting and exciting interactions. However, Tora is a mafia member, so don’t expect rainbows and sunshine.

Midnight Poppy Land explores some dark themes and tests their growing feelings. There’s some dangerous mafia business going on, some of which Poppy is aware of and others she is not. Someone has gone missing. Poppy may unknowingly be in possession of an important notebook. As a result of his long association with the mafia, Tora has developed some serious issues. Poppy has yet to see his most violent sides.

The characters are interesting and have captivating stories. Each character faces difficulties. They have distinct personalities. That may sound strange to say. Characters, of course, have personalities, right? But iss this really true? I’ve seen some characters who lacked personality or felt like carbon copies of other characters. Midnight Poppy Land is well written, and the author clearly spent time creating these characters.

The artwork is also quite appealing. Each character has a distinct appearance. Poppy is beautiful, and Tora is very handsome. I could stare at them all day. The art is similar to that of other webtoons I’ve read, but it’s clear that the artist has a style that distinguishes this webtoon from others. It’s not perfect, but I know the artist works hard, and the details of Tora’s tattoos must take a long time to draw and color.

Season two’s first few chapters feel a little too drawn out, but the pace quickly picks up. Aside from those few chapters, the pace of this webtoon has been perfect. It’s a lot of fun to read. Every week, I eagerly await the arrival of new chapters. A new chapter is released every Saturday, which is more than I could ask for (but honestly, I enjoy this one so much I wish I could get a new chapter every day). I highly recommend you to read this series, especially if you enjoy romance as much as I do.
