My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising is the second film in the My Hero Academia anime series. Deku and his classmates from 1-A are stationed on remote Nabu Island for a summer semester safety program. Because Nabu Island’s hero has retired, class 1-A forms a temporary agency and serves as the island’s heroes. Since the island is very peaceful, that usually consists of small jobs like finding missing children, assisting elderly ladies across town, or restarting a broken tracker. However, Deku and his friends must save the island residents from villains who attack the island in search of a boy with a particular quirk.
This film is just as good as the first, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It has the same feel as the first one; it feels like extra episodes rather than a completely separate movie. There is never a point where you feel like they linger on something for too long or for too little time in order to fit everything into the film. However, you’ll need to know the series more for this one, so I don’t think people who haven’t seen the series will enjoy this movie as much as they might enjoy the first one.
I believe the animation quality has improved for My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising, as the opening scene is extremely well animated. The detailing of the cars is especially noticeable. This film also has beautifully designed scenes, particularly during the fights.
Each character has their moment to shine, just like in the first film and anime series. The film is never about one person in particular, though it does focus on Deku, who is the main character of the anime, as well as Bakugo.
The finale was great. Deku and All Might fight together in the first film’s finale. How could you possibly have anything as interesting as that, right? Deku and Bakugo fight together, that’s how. It was incredible, emotional, and enjoyable to watch. They fight so well as a team.
My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising is an excellent film. It’s emotional, fun, and well-written, and it just makes you feel excited and happy. The film demonstrates what it means to be a hero. It is a true superhero film. It has something that mainstream superhero films seem to lack these days. Fans of My Hero Academia should definitely check it out. To be honest, I recommend all of My Hero Academia to superhero fans in general.
