Weekly Recommendations is a post I publish every Friday in which I recommend three different types of entertainment. This includes anime, comic books, movies, television shows, video games, and other similar types of media. When I give recommendations, I try to offer a mix of genres, themes, and age ranges.

Zombieland Saga

  • Anime
  • Comedy, Idol, Supernatural

Sakura Minamoto, a high school student hoping to be an idol, is killed when she is hit by a truck. She awakens to find herself a zombie, resurrected by Kotaro Tatsumi, and joins six other girls from various eras to form an idol group to save Japan’s Saga Prefecture.

Top Gun: Maverick

  • Movie
  • Action, Drama

In the sequel to Top Gun, thirty years later, Maverick serves as a test pilot. Despite his accomplishments, his insubordination has prevented him from rising above Captain, and the only thing keeping him from being grounded is his former rival, Admiral Tom “Iceman” Kazansky. Maverick returns to Top Gun at Icemean’s request to train the best pilots for a risky, virtually impossible mission crucial to defeating the enemy.

Harley Quinn Mad Love

  • Novel
  • Action

Mad Love is Harley Quinn’s origin story and history, depicted from her point of view. The plot begins with her childhood, then progresses to her job at Arkham Asylum, how she fell in love with the Joker, her interactions with him, and finally her debut as a solo villain. Pat Cadigan and Paul Dini, one of her original creators, wrote the book.
