Weekly Recommendations is a post I write on Fridays where I recommend three different kinds of entertainment. These can be anime, comics, books, movies, tabletop games, video games, or any other similar form of media. They will also vary in genre, intended audience’s age range, and release year.

Hinamatsuri

  • Anime, 12 episodes
  • Comedy, Sci-Fi, Slice-of-life

Yoshifumi Nitta is a yakuza member, but his life changes when a young girl named Hina falls into his apartment inside a giant egg-shaped container. She also possesses psychokinetic powers. After she uses her powers to help him in a yakuza fight, Nitta allows her to stay in his apartment and eventually becomes her father. Hina is an odd girl, and her presence disrupts Nitta’s life, which worsens when more girls from the future show up.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

  • Live-action series
  • Supernatural, Action, Horror, Drama, Comedy

High school student Buffy Summers is a vampire slayer and comes from a long line of girls who are destined to battle evil. Buffy protects Sunnydale from supernatural beings with the help of her Watcher, Rupert Giles, and a group of friends.

Sixth Sense Kiss

  • Webtoon
  • Romance, Comedy

Yesul Hong has the ability to see someone’s future through a kiss. She ended her relationship with her previous boyfriend because she didn’t see a happy future with him, and the fear of dating again and not seeing a good future makes it difficult for her to find love again. However, an unintentional kiss allows her to see a happy future with her boss. The only problem is that her boss is a cruel man who appears to hate her, and she dislikes him too. To make matters worse, her ex-boyfriend has begun working for the same company as her. You can read this webtoon here
