Weekly Recommendations is a post I write every Friday where I recommend three different kinds of entertainment for you. These can include comics, movies, anime, video games, board games, and other similar types of media. They might also vary in intended audience, age, themes, and genres.
Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic
- Anime, 25 episodes
- Action, Adventure, Fantasy
Djinns are supernatural entities who preside over enormous labyrinths known as “dungeons.” The Djinn will bestow great power on the individual who conquers the dungeon. These dungeons were built by Magi, rare and powerful magicians who supported rulers in the development of their empires. Aladdin is a young and isolated magi. He eventually leaves his home to travel the world with Ugo, a djinn he can call by playing the flute. He befriends Alibaba Saluja, and the two try the nearest dungeon, which begins an adventure that will affect the whole world and also help them learn more about themselves.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
- Video Game: Nintendo Switch, Wii U
- Action, Adventure, Role-playing
When Link awakens, he discovers that Princess Zelda has trapped Ganon inside Hyrule’s castle with her. Link must free the Divine Beasts from Ganon’s monsters so that he can use them to defeat Ganon. As Link, you travel the regions of Hyrule, killing enemies and completing side quests and puzzles. It is an open-world game that allows you to do whatever you want, whenever you want. It also includes several RPG features, such as gathering materials to make food that increases your stats, purchasing different costumes that give you different abilities, and being able to move anywhere on the map.
