Weekly Recommendations is a post I write on Friday where I recommend three different kinds of entertainment. This can be all sorts of types of media like anime, comics, video games, movies, and more. They may also vary in intended audience, age of media, genre, and theme.
Happily Ever Afterwards
- Webtoon
- Fantasy, Romance, Isekai
Peony reincarnates as the princess of the Kingdom of Garten in her favorite romance novel, “The Song of Askar.” With her memories of the book intact, she is determined to marry her favorite character, Richt, the second male lead and former second prince of the Fairspren Empire, who was banished for treason at the end of the book.
Aoharu X Machine Gun
- Manga
- Action, Comedy
Hotaru Tachibana is the student council president and a girl who is frequently mistaken for a boy. When a host defrauds a friend, Hotaru confronts him. Turns out he also happens to be her neighbor, Masamune Matsuoka. To solve the problem, he recommends a “survival game,” which is essentially a war game with fake guns. She eventually loses and has to join Masamune’s team, “Toy Gun Gun.” Over time, she develops a genuine love for the game and shares the team’s goal to become the best in Japan. However, Masasume’s team is entirely composed of men, and no women are allowed. Will she be able to help teammates to win championships while hiding that she’s a girl, or will they find out the truth?
Young Justice
- Cartoon TV Series: 98 episodes
- Action, Adventure, Superhero, Fantasy, Drama
Young Justice is about the lives of a group of teenage superheroes from DC Comics who join a team to fight supervillains and learn more about themselves and their powers. The main characters include Robin, Superboy, Kid Flash, Aqualad, Red Arrow, Artemis, and Miss Martian, with other young superheroes and sidekicks joining them later.
