Here is this week’s list of recommendations for Friday. As usual, these recommendations could be for any kind of entertainment, whether it be a cartoon, video game, comic, book, or other media. The age range and the year of release will also vary.

Noragami

  • Anime, 25 episodes
  • Action, Fantasy

Hiyori Iki is a high school girl who pushes a young man out of the way when she sees he’s about to be hit by a car, only to be hit herself. When she awakens, she discovers that her soul can become detached and escape from her body. The young man turns out to be a god named Yato. He’s a minor deity with no shrine who assists humans with tasks for a fee. Hiyori requests that he assist her in returning to normalcy, but he first requires a new partner.

Alice in the Country of Hearts

  • Manga
  • Fantasy, Romance, Psychological, Reverse Harem

A different take on the Alice in Wonderland story. Alice is kidnapped by a man with bunny ears and transported to another world, where she becomes trapped. There, she meets Blood, the Mad Hatter and a mafia boss, the Queen of Hearts, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, Boris the Cheshire Cat, and others. However, this wonderland is far darker and more twisted than the traditional story, as all of its inhabitants have clocks for hearts, making life less important, and many of them kill without hesitation. (Side note: There are numerous spin-offs of this series. Some are shown in the picture above. You can check out this manga and the spin-offs here.)

Warm Bodies

  • Movie
  • Horror, Comedy, Romance, Paranormal

A zombie apocalypse has divided Earth’s inhabitants into humans and zombies. R is a zombie who spends the majority of his zombie life eating brains and wandering around the same area. When he sees a human girl being attacked by zombies, he decides to save her instead. Julie, the human girl, notices that R is different from the other zombies, and they begin a friendship that appears to be changing R and making him more human. As their bond grows, so do his changes, and those changes have the potential to alter the course of life on Earth.

Minecraft

  • Video Game
  • Sandbox, Survival

In order to survive against monsters, players must explore a world full of blocks, gather materials, mine, craft, and build. There is also a creative mode where players can design and construct whatever structures they want without having to worry about surviving or fighting monsters.
