With the start of a new year, I’ll be making a small change to my weekly recommendations. Instead of four recommendations per week, I’ll reduce them to three. As much as I want to provide you with as many options as possible, it’s simply too much for me to come up with four different pieces of entertainment each week, especially when I can’t always find the time to replenish my list quickly enough. However, the rest will remain the same. I’ll suggest a variety of entertainment, including video games, comic books, anime, webtoons, and more. They will still differ in terms of intended audience and year of release.
The Apothecary Diaries

- Comedy, Drama, Medical, Historical, Slice-of-life, Romance
Maomao is a low-level servant in ancient China’s emperor’s court. When she learns that the emperor’s two young children are ill, she employs her skills as a pharmacist, which she learned while growing up in the red-light district, to assist them. Despite her desire to keep her talents hidden, Jinshi, an important eunuch, discovers them. Jinshi leads her to the inner court, where he requests her assistance with a variety of issues that arise throughout the palace.
Love After World Domination

They are both inexperienced when it comes to dating and love, but they are determined to make their relationship work despite the fact that they are hiding from those around them.
Top Gun: Maverick
- Movie
- Action, Drama
Thirty years after the first Top Gun, Maverick is a test pilot in the sequel. Despite his achievements, his insubordination has kept him from rising above Captain, and the only thing keeping him from being grounded is his former rival, Admiral Tom “Iceman” Kazansky. Maverick returns to Top Gun at Icemean’s request to train the best pilots in a dangerous, nearly impossible mission critical to defeating the enemy.
