Every Friday, I publish a weekly recommendations post in which I recommend three different types of entertainment for your enjoyment, such as video games, comic books, anime, board games, books, webtoons, and other forms of entertainment. They can also differ in terms of target audience and release year.
Mr. and Mrs. X
- Comic book
- Action, Comedy, Romance, Adventure
Rogue and Gambit have finally married, but their lives continue to be disrupted. A distress call from Kitty Pryde and the arrival of Deadpool, Rogue’s former flame, with a mysterious package ruin their honeymoon. The married couple’s attempt to throw a party goes awry, and they are transported to the Mojoverse during their wedding reception. To spend some peaceful time together, they must fight and confront their past.
His Majesty’s Secret Heroine
- Webtoon
- Fantasy, Romance
Lokheun’s mother is murdered while she is a newborn, and her father becomes a fugitive after exacting revenge. Lokheun dedicates her life to the Emperor Garyun in order to save her father. Garyun, mistaking Lokheun for a male, sends her to the lair of demons to train. When she returns years later, he appoints Lokheun as his head imperial general, but Lokheun’s secret becomes more difficult to conceal when Garyun meets her as a woman.
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle
- Movie
- Fantasy, Adventure, Comedy
In 1996, Alex Vreeke’s father discovers the board game Jumanji washed ashore on a beach and offers it to his son. Alex tosses a board game aside, uninterested, until it changes into a video game. When he goes to play it, he gets dragged into the game and vanishes. Twenty-one years later, four high school students discover the video game while doing detention cleaning in the school’s basement. When they begin to play the game, they are dragged into it as well, becoming the avatars they choose. To return to the real world, they must complete the dangerous game, finding Alex and learning more about themselves along the way.
