Here are my weekly recommendations for this week. I recommend three different kinds of entertainment, which can include video games, anime, comic books, television series, and other media. They can also differ in terms of intended audience and year of release.

Go Away Romeo

  • Webtoon
  • Romance

Rosaline falls in love with Romeo and agrees to marry him in an original take on the Romeo and Juliet story, but he dies the same day as her cousin Juliet. But Rosaline is happy to learn that she is carrying Romeo’s child. Life as a single mother during that time period is difficult, and she tells no one that her son’s father is a rival of her family. She is overjoyed to have her son, and she remembers Romeo fondly until she discovers his betrayal. She now must deal with not only the societal ramifications of having a son outside of marriage but also with Romeo’s return to Verona.

Harley Quinn Mad Love

  • Novel
  • Action

Mad Love is Harley Quinn’s origin story and history told from her point of view. The story begins with her childhood, then moves on to her work at Arkham Asylum, how she fell in love with the Joker, her experiences with him, and finally her debut as a solo villain. Pat Cadigan and Paul Dini, one of her original creators, wrote the book.

Unicornus Knights

  • Board Game
  • Adventure, Dice, Strategy

A cooperative board game in which you play as generals tasked with supporting the princess of the kingdom in reaching and regaining the nation’s capital after the Empire attacked. You must clear a path by fighting opponents on the board who are impeding your progress and keep her alive. You use dice rolls during fighting and play on a modular board. The game requires strategy because you must get the princess to the capital within a certain number of rounds, while events can make each turn more difficult.
