Every Friday, I post weekly recommendations. I recommend three different types of entertainment, including anime, comic books, video games, and others. They will also differ in terms of intended audience and year of release.

Miraculous Ladybug: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir

  • Cartoon
  • Action, Adventure, Superhero, Magical Girl, Romance

Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste use miraculous to become the superheroes Ladybug and Cat Noir. They work together to protect the citizens of Paris from Hawk Moth, who plans to steal their miraculous by using akumas, which transform humans into supervillains when they experience emotional pain. While they are friends, Marinette has affection for Adrien, and Adrien has feelings for Ladybug, both of whom are unaware of their secret identities.

Miss Not-So Sidekick

  • Manhwa, Webtoon
  • Comedy, Fantasy, Isekai, Romance

Hyejung awakens to find herself within her favorite novel. She is not the heroine who seduces three attractive men, but rather Latte Ectrie, a minor villain who everyone despises. Hyejung resolves to take on the identity of Latte and fully embrace her new life. Ten years later, she’s become a successful author under a pen name, and all she wants to do now is eat popcorn and watch all the drama between her favorite characters develop. Her unusual behavior, however, has made her a larger part of the story than she realizes.

Your Name

  • Anime, Movie
  • Drama, Supernatural, Romance

Mitsuha Miyamizu is a country high school girl who dreams of seeing Tokyo. One day, she awakens in the body of Taki Tachibana, a high school student from that city. Taki awakens in Mitsuha’s body. Despite their initial belief that it was all a dream, the two continue swapping bodies. They work together to teach each other about their lives in order to hide their secret, but they have no understanding of why or how to stop it. Their body switching allows them to bond, but when they decide to meet, it turns out that their body swapping has broad implications.
