Here are my weekly recommendations for this week. This post will include three different types of entertainment, including comic books, anime, manga, books, television shows, and more. Because everyone needs something to enjoy every now and then.
Weiss Schwarz
- Card Game
- Deck Builder, Collectable, Strategy
Weiss Schwarz is a collectible deck-building card game from Japan. The cards are designed after characters from anime shows. Examples include Fairy Tail, Fate/Stay Night, Love Live!, Steins;Gate, and more series. You can purchase packs to get the right cards for your strategy. The goal is to force the other player up to the fourth level (as detailed further in the game’s rules) or to keep yourself from reaching the fourth level until your opponent runs out of cards. With each level you gain, you can play stronger characters. It is similar to Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic: The Gathering, but it is based on anime characters.
He Can’t Be This Dumb!
- Webtoon
- Romance, Comedy
International Island High School is a prestigious educational institution for the wealthy and elite. Kang Doha is a typical girl from a normal home who is forced to enter this institution following an accidental encounter. The school is divided into dorms based on a student’s academic standing, peer popularity, and familial situation. Despite her wish to lead a quiet high school life, Doha finds herself in need of a place to stay after being kicked out of her dorm room. Rowoon is the most popular kid at school and resides in the VIP room, but his lack of skills with girls jeopardizes his way of life. He offers Doha the option to live in the VIP room with him in exchange for her assistance in understanding women.
Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun
- Manga
- Comedy, Supernatural
The “Seven Mysteries” are the most well-known supernatural rumors at Kamome Academy. Hanako-san, the ghost of a little girl who lives in the girl’s restroom and is claimed to grant wishes, is one of these mysteries. Nene Yashiro is a first-year student who calls Hanako-san in the belief that she can grant her love wish, but the Hanako that arrives is a boy who refuses to help her. Nene swallows a mermaid scale to attract her crush’s attention, transforming herself into a fish. Hanako saves her, but it binds the two together, forcing Nene to serve as his assistant. Nene is then drawn deeper into the supernatural world.
