Weekly Recommendations is a post I write every Friday in which I recommend three different types of media, such as anime, comics, TV shows, movies, and other similar forms of entertainment.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus
- Video Game: Nintendo Switch
- Role-playing, Open World, Turn Based, Action, Adventure
Explore the Hisui region while battling and catching Pokémon to learn more about them and complete the first Pokédex. You fall from the sky with no memories, and an unknown being asks you to catch all of the Pokémon in the Hisui region during a period when most humans are still scared of Pokémon and know little about them. Unlike previous Pokémon games, this one is primarily open-world, allowing you to explore wherever and whenever you want. Play through the main story, complete side quests, and engage in hands-on Pokémon battles and captures.
Psychic Princess
- Anime, 16 episodes
- Comedy, Drama, Romance
Qian Yunxi, a young noblewoman, was taken to the mountains as a child due to her unusual abilities. Her family marries her off to an enemy prince instead of her younger sister, whom they prefer. The prince, Ye Youming, dislikes her and sees her as an enemy, so he abandons her and forces her to live in a haunted palace. However, Qian Yunxi is a psychic, and her abilities suggest her life as the prince’s consort may be better than everyone believes or hopes.
The Unbelievable Gwenpool
- Marvel Comic Book
- Adventure, Action, Comedy
Gwen Poole was a comic book reader before being transported into the comic book world. She sees the world as fictitious and decides she wants to be a hero like those she reads about. The costume designer designed Gwenpool after being influenced by her name and assuming she was going for a Deadpool look. To generate money, she becomes a mercenary rather than a hero, causing issues for other heroes and bystanders by treating everyone as disposable because they are simply characters in a comic book. But when things get all too real for her, she recognizes that these aren’t simply comic book characters; they’re actual people.
