Every Friday, I publish a post called Weekly Recommendations, in which I recommend three different kinds of entertainment. This could include anime, comic books, TV series, novels, video games, movies, and more.

The Seventh Plague: A Sigma Force Novel

  • Book
  • Adventure, Thriller, Suspense

Professor Harold McCabe, the leader of a British archaeological expedition, went missing two years ago while searching for evidence of the ten plagues in the Sudanese desert. He reappears two years later, only to die before disclosing what happened. However, autopsy results show that the professor’s body was mummified while he was still alive. People begin to question if the plagues are resuming when the medical team that performed the man’s autopsy falls ill with an unknown disease. Commander Grayson Pierce and the Sigma Force look for answers in several locations. However, time is running out to defeat an ancient threat that science has brought back to life and has the potential to destroy humanity.

Spice and Wolf

  • Anime, 24 episodes
  • Fantasy, Adventure, Romance

Holo the wise wolf is a deity worshiped in Pasloe, where she blesses the town’s annual harvests. However, she is reduced to folklore as the villagers become more self-sufficient. Holo, no longer needed, requests that a traveling merchant, Kraft Lawrence, take her to the north. He agrees after witnessing her capacity to help him with his business. Lawrence believes that with Holo’s assistance, he is coming closer to his ambition of running a shop, but as they travel together and get to know each other better, his dreams might be changing.

For My Derelict Favorite

  • Webtoon
  • Romance, Fantasy, Isekai, Drama

Hestia awakens as a side character in her favorite novel, excited to see her favorite characters play out their parts. She feels that once the story is finished, she will be able to return to her original world. When the end arrives, however, she does not return home, and her favorite character dies tragically. However, Hestia returns to the day the novel ended, and this time, instead of just watching her favorite character from the sidelines, she will have a direct role in saving the character she loves the most.
